Dingoes in Fraser Island

Anyone traveling to Fraser Island at this time of year, should take particular notice of dingo safety warnings and directions from the rangers on the island. From September until the end of October is Dingo Whelping Season.

This is the time when dingo pups are venturing out of their dens and being taught hunting and survival skills from the adults. It is imperative that they be able to do this without human interaction. The female dingo will aggressively defend the young cubs and visitors to the island are advised to walk in groups and keep children close by.

Please look out for dingoes on the beach whilst driving and DO NOT FEED THE DINGOES.
